## Convert notes to timesheet entries without retyping them

Plain Text Timesheet Parser is a TimeCamp add-on that uses AI to convert notes to timesheet entries for employees and freelancers who write down their work as they go. Paste the notes or work log you already have, check the entries, and upload them to your timesheet in one click.

### Why people use the timesheet parser

- **No template to follow.** Bullet notes, full sentences, time ranges like "9am-5pm", and durations like "1.5h" all work.
- **Your task list stays clean.** Entries match tasks you already have in TimeCamp. The add-on never creates tasks.
- **Descriptions that read well.** The AI rewrites rough notes into clear, professional descriptions.
- **Nothing goes to your timesheet until you say so.** You check every entry before you upload it.

### What you can do

- Paste notes for one day or several days into one text box.
- Get a date, duration, matched task, description, and, when possible, start and end times for each entry.
- Write "Monday" or "1.5h" and get a real date and a clean 01:30 duration.
- Find the text you last parsed in the box when you come back.

### How it works

1. Open Plain Text Timesheet Parser and paste your notes.
2. Click "Parse with AI". The add-on sends your text and your list of TimeCamp tasks to the AI.
3. Check each entry: date, duration, time, task, and description.
4. If something is wrong, change your text and parse again.
5. Click "Upload N entries to TimeCamp". The add-on saves the entries and shows how many it added.

### Good to know

- The add-on is free. To get it, send a request with the button on this page.
- You cannot edit or remove a single entry in the list.
- Archived tasks are not matched.
- Entries without a start time start at 08:00 and can overlap. Add times to your notes when you can.
- By default, day names mean the current week. For earlier weeks, write the date.
- There are no fields for tags or billable status.
- Each parse has an AI output limit. If a very long paste fails, split it into parts.
- Your text and task names go to an AI model (currently Claude Sonnet 4) through OpenRouter. The add-on stores your last parsed text with your TimeCamp user ID until you parse again or click "Clear".
