Review TimeCamp IP logs with approximate locations
IP log locations is a TimeCamp report that adds approximate geographic context to IP log events. Select a day to see who each event belongs to, when it occurred, and which IP address was recorded, with location details where available.
What you can do
- Select a date to review that day's IP log events.
- See the user name, event time, and IP address together in each row.
- Check the approximate city, country, latitude, and longitude returned for an IP address.
- Return to today's records with the Today button.
How it works
- Request access from the TimeCamp team.
- Open the report in TimeCamp and choose a date.
- Review the event table with location details alongside the original IP addresses.
Good to know
- Locations are estimated from IP addresses, not GPS. A VPN, proxy, or network provider can make the reported location differ from the person's actual location.
- IP addresses are sent to IPinfo to look up their location. Lookup results are cached for 30 days.
- If location details are unavailable, the event remains visible with dashes in the location columns.
- The report needs access to TimeCamp users, IP logs, and computer activity for the selected date. The TimeCamp team configures the IPinfo connection.
- The report shows a table of events. It does not include a map, automatic live refresh, or CSV export.
- The interface is in English.
