AI activity classifier

AI activity classifier is a TimeCamp add-on that measures YouTube use at work and uses AI to label each window title as work or potentially personal. It shows admins the result by department and by person, with the evidence one click away.

Why admins use AI activity classifier

• Fair to people who learn on YouTube. A training video can count as work, not personal time.
• Your definition of work. Describe your company in plain words, and the AI uses it to judge each title.
• Evidence before any conversation. See each window title for a person and how it was labeled.
• Know how complete each number is. Coverage shows how much app time already has a label.

What you can do

• Compare application time, potentially personal time, their share of all computer time, and coverage by department and by person.
• Filter by month, application, department, or employee, across the current month and the previous 23.
• Click a person to see their window titles with time and a Work, Personal, or Unclassified label.
• Export the department or people table to CSV.
• Turn each configured app on or off without losing its history.

How it works

1. Open the add-on in TimeCamp as an admin. In Settings, choose Authorize this session so labeling can run in the background.
2. In Company context, describe your company, teams, and common work topics in up to 8,000 characters.
3. Every 6 hours, the add-on collects new window titles from the last 3 days and labels up to 50 unlabeled titles, oldest first.
4. Pick a month to see results and queue its titles for labeling. Click a name to see the titles behind the numbers.

Good to know

• YouTube is the only app set up by default. Adding another app or site needs a server configuration change.
• Only TimeCamp admins can use the add-on. It needs computer activity with window titles.
• App time shows right away. Labels arrive at up to 200 titles a day, so full coverage can take days.
• A row shows personal time only when all its app time has a label. Time without a window title never gets one.
• Each title is labeled once, so a context change affects only new labels.
• The AI gets only window titles, the app, and your company context, not employee names or email addresses. Requests go through OpenRouter, limited to providers with zero data retention.
• Usage time is read live from TimeCamp, not stored. The add-on stores each distinct title and label, plus the authorizing admin's encrypted token.
• Before rollout, agree on the purpose with HR or legal, and tell employees how you use the report.
• The interface is in English.
